An Exhibition by 4 Bali-Based Artists

With share love for life and women has brought four Bali-based artists of very different background together in a collaborative exhibition at Danes' Art Veranda in downtown Denpasar.

Pande Gede Supada from Singaraja, North Bali; Freddy Sitorus from Sumatra and Kendari, Sulawesi; Made Mahendra Mangku from Sukawati, Bali; and Peter Studer, also known as Surya Suryata, originally from Bern, Switzerland - jointly explore the subject of their love for life in this special exhibition of outstanding original art.

Freddy employs expressionistic and naïve techniques to explore the theme of love from a child-like perspective. Pande, another expressionist, displays his take on love and life. Mahendra predictably uses his trademark intersecting vertical and horizontal lines to speak of love. While transplanted Swiss artists Peter Studer, who has adopted the Balinese name of Surya Suryata, paints highly-refined and stylized representations of the female genitalia in his expressions of a profound love of life.
